So I’m sure we have all seen the famous ‘Iconic London Illuminator’ posted all over social media. It seems to be the new “IT” makeup product amongst the beauty blogger/vlogger industry. However, it retails for about £33 which is a little pricey, so I wanted to look for a cheaper alternative. I came across the Nip+Fab Liquid Gold in Superdrug and it looked like a great option for me to try out.
The highlighter retails for £12.95 and whilst it is still on the pricier side of drugstore products, It is still greatly cheaper than the Iconic London. It comes in 3 other shades, rose gold, white gold and deep gold. It is described as the ultimate glow for your face and body! I have used this product a few times now and I have to say I really do like it. I have been completely into a dewier, glowy look recently and the liquid gold helps to give you that glow from within look. It is more of a subtle highlight which I enjoy, so if you are looking for your highlight to be seen from out of space then this product isn’t for you.
How I apply it
I like to put the product on after my foundation to get the most out of the product. I found that it got lost putting it on before my foundation with it being more subtle. I use the pipette to dot it on to the high points of my cheekbones and then blend it out with my finger/beauty blender for a beautiful radiant finish. The smooth texture makes it super easy to blend without it disturbing my base underneath. You can also mix it with your primer, foundation or moisturiser for an extra glow. I love the colour (deep gold), I think its a gorgeous shade for women with darker skin tones.
Throughout the day
It wears really nicely throughout the day continuing to give you a natural glow without look greasy! That is a big deal for me as I have oily skin so I can easily tell the difference between oil and a dewy highlight.
Nip + Fab’s liquid gold is such a beautiful product that got me a few lovely compliments when I wore it. It is definitely a great drugstore option if you don’t fancy paying for higher end highlighters. I have yet to try the product on my body but I have a feeling it would look amazing in the summer! Let me know your thoughts if you have also tried it.
